The Rev. Dr. Lisa Barrowclough, Chaplain
Pastor Lisa began her ministry at St. Mark’s Church and School in August 2006. In May 2009, she was awarded the degree Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) in Educational Leadership from the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, VA. The research for her doctoral dissertation, More Life than the Ways of the World: The Unique Opportunity for Character Education in an Episcopal Parish Day School, was conducted at St. Mark’s. Also in May 2009, Dr. Barrowclough was appointed as an adjunct instructor at Virginia Seminary and given the opportunity to teach for the summer term in the doctoral program.
Lisa also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and Religious Studies from the University of Western Ontario (London, ON, Canada) and a Master of Divinity degree from Queen’s College, Faculty of Theology (St. Johns, NL, Canada). A native of Oakville, Ontario, Canada, Lisa served as Rector of three rural churches in Northern Alberta, and a third and fourth grade teacher outside of Toronto, before moving to the U.S. to pursue a ministry in school chaplaincy. Prior to her arrival at St. Mark’s, Lisa served as Associate Rector and School Chaplain in Punta Gorda, FL.
