Our current facilities limit our ability to do God's work. We need spaces that are adaptable for groups large and small; for our students to gather and celebrate their accomplishments in music and song; and a chapel where someone who is hurting can pray, no matter what time or day.
We surveyed parishioners, parents, students, staff, and community leaders for their recommendations - then created a new master plan for the St. Mark's church and school campus.
Phase I, the youth center and gymnasium, has been completed. It was financed in large part by contributions to the school annual fund and auction that enabled us to obtain bank financing at favorable rates and manageable within our operating budgets.
Phase II, which included the Peace Chapel and the school administration building, has been completed. The buildings opened in August 2012.
We are now raising money for Phase III: Staluppi Center at St Mark's. Staluppi Center will provide a dining hall for school lunches, church dinners and socials; stage and auditorium space; and multi-function areas for church, school, and community meetings and events. Construction will cost about $12 million. The church and school are both in excellent financial condition, and our leadership is confident that we can bring this to fruition without undue burden.
Our campaign theme is WE WILL! Build in Faith, because that is the way we live our lives, in faith that the Lord will guide and direct us.
